The Special Collections department collects and holds rare books, manuscripts, and other primary-source materials that support research and scholarship. The Archives department collects and holds records relating to the history of Anatolia College and the American College of Thessaloniki (ACT). The Special Collections & Archives Department is responsible for collecting, preserving, and making available these unique, rare, and historically valuable materials for research and educational purposes.
The Special Collections & Archives department, located in the Bissell Library, is open Mondays-Thursdays 11:00 - 15:00, and by appointment. Please note that the Special Collections & Archives department is closed on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Yes. Please give us 48 hours prior notification by filling out and submitting the relevant Special Collections & Archives Request Form in advance.
The Bissell Library will determine if duplication can be performed without damage to materials and the requested duplication does not violate donor agreements or copyright laws. For requesting limited photocopies or photographic reproductions (including scans) of materials, please fill out the Copy Order & Billing Form. Please note that not all Special Collections & Archives materials are suitable for copying based on the preservation needs of the items, or due to copyright. Please consult the Bissell Library Director.
Photocopies cost 0.20€ per page.
All photocopying of the Special Collections & Archives material is undertaken by staff.
Photocopy requests are limited to a maximum of 75 pages per day.
All photocopy requests cannot exceed 10% of the collection's volume or 1 chapter, whichever is less.
The Microfilm Collection is consisted of two sub-collections:
1. The Jewish Archive, donated by the Jewish Community of Thessaloniki, which includes:
Twelve reels entitled: "Thessaloniki Jewish community records" 1939-1945, 35mm film.
2. The "Papers of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions":
